华夏童年认为培养幼儿英语日常用语语感很重要，目前，在我们国内真正意义上的英语幼儿园还是凤毛麟角，大多数名为专业双语幼儿园，实际上，只是在一定的时间里，把英语作为一门学科来学习，其他时间里的学习还是用母语进行。真正的双语幼儿园，应该是同时以两种语言作为教学媒介的教育系统，即幼儿同时学习两种语言，并通过两种语言学习其他知识。

从幼儿本身考虑，他们的发音机制尚未定型，有条件正确模仿人类各种语言的发音，随着年龄的增长，发音机制就要定型，学习幼儿英语日常用语语言时，就容易有口音了。因此，如果有良好的学习第二语言的条件(最好到国外，退而求其次，英语教师应该发音纯正)，早一点对幼儿进行第二语言的启蒙教育，让其有英语(或其他语种)发音的体验，可以给其将来正式学习第二语言打下良好的基础；如果幼儿没有学习第二语言的良好条件，就不必急于学习第二语言，以免打下不良的基础。

游戏是幼儿的主要活动。幼儿学习英语，应经常采用各种游戏活动，让幼儿在动手、动口等活动中感受英语，运用英语。这样既能满足幼儿玩的愿望，又可以使幼儿在不知不觉、高高兴兴的活动中自然学习英语。

目前的英语教师有两种情况:一是幼儿园设有专门英语教师，其中一部分是国内高等师范或综合性大学英语专科毕业，一部分是请的外教，但他们缺乏幼教知识。二是原班教师教外语。他们懂幼儿教育，所用方法符合幼儿的特点，但在外语方面多为半路出家，语言质量难以保证。
